I had thought of Dan at least a couple of times just lately, having spent a weekend in Milwaukee, and also having gone out for a Korean lunch. Thought of him again this Christmas holiday, and that it might not be that hard to get in touch with him again. I'm shocked and saddened that he's left us so soon! I met Dan when we were both in grad school at Marquette in 1983. For several years thereafter, he patiently and persistently extended me the hand of friendship. Though I hadn't seen him in 25 years or more, I've cherished memories of times and talks, and been grateful for his presence in the world. He will be much missed - God speed, Dan!

I was a friend of Dan's when we were in graduate school together at Marquette University. He was a wonderful friend and taught me a great deal. I am so sorry to hear that he died. He will be in my prayers, as well as his family.
