Helmut Alois Kuhn, 93 years, born April 22, 1923 to John and Frieda Kuhn. Passed peacefully home to our Lord on February 12, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Best friend and beloved husband of the late Marilyn for 72 years. Loving father of Darcy (Jerry) Blaha, Lindsey (Tom) Marriott, Jeff (Pam), Gary (Julie), Janis (Bob) Solberg, Sharon (Brian) Duffy, the late Ron (Debbie), the late Keith, Barb Kuhn-Klumb, Carol (Cindy) Kuhn-Trobentar, and Brian (Lori). Dear Grandpa to 32 grandchildren: Ryan and Mike Schwechler, the late Art Blaha and the late Ellen McDermott, Brandon, Chad and Tucker Marriott, the late Lori Moll, Jen Haenel, Kim Wirth, Steve Kuhn, Kaity Johannes, Carly Kuhn, Rob and Christine Daebel, Angie Palattao, Kyle and Erik Solberg, Tara Duffy-Hesseltine, Shanna and Alissa Duffy, Tiffin Kusek, Trista, Garrick and Wesley Kuhn, Shari, Korrie and Andrea Klumb, Kylie and Cruz Kuhn-Trobentar, and Hailey and Paige Kuhn. Special Grandpa to 28 great-grandchildren: Reid, Matt, Wade, Aaron, Owen and Hannah Schwechler, Brooke, Allie, Toby and Liza Marriott, Kyle and Sydney Moll, Lucas and Sam Haenel, Avery, Fynn and Olivia Wirth, Noah and Claire Kuhn, Elise, Patrick and Ryan Palattao, Carter Marsh, Owen Povlick, Jocelyn and Brooklyn Kuhn, Zack Oleszek, and Gracelynn Hanley. Special brother of the late Hilde (Edgar) Stamm and brother-in-law of the late Georgette “Dolly” (Edward) Stamm. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and close friends. Helmut served in the US Army Military Intelligence from 1943 to 1945, interrogating German POWs. Following his military service, in 1948 Helmut and Ed Stamm founded S&K Pump & Plumbing, Inc., a legacy that is being carried on by his sons. Throughout his life, Helmut always put his family first with his incredible generosity, kindness and compassion. Honesty, hard work, love, respect and loyalty – to live up to and honor commitments and to be self-reliant, were values he lived by. All who knew him were proud to call him friend. Visitation at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 12130 W. Center Street, Wauwatosa, WI on Friday, Friday 17 at 10:00 a.m. to noon, followed by Mass of Christian Burial. Interment following at St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery, Elm Grove, WI, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Elmbrook Humane Society, Catholic Charities of Milwaukee or Fr. Gene’s Help Center, Milwaukee.
