Obituary for James S. Fitch

James Stuart Fitch, Ph.D. of Glendale, WI went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ on July 11, 2016 at the age of 79 years. He was born March 20, 1937 to James P. and Louise L. Fitch. He married Christine Marie Gallagher on June 15, 1985.
Jim was fond of water aerobics at the Wisconsin Athletic Club as well as biking, horseback riding and many spectator sports. Jim enjoyed travel. His favorite spot was Door County, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife, a brother John A. Fitch DDS, his mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and their children.
Jim received a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a MS from Marquette University and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His career included Allis-Chalmers, lecturing at UWM and concluded with 23 proud years at the USDA Forest Service Regional Office in Milwaukee.
Visitation will be held at Loving Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3909 W. Clinton Avenue, Milwaukee on Saturday, July 16, at 10 a.m. Service will be held at 11 a.m. with luncheon to follow at the church.
Memorials can be sent to Loving Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, United Cerebral Palsy of Southeastern Wisconsin, Bel Canto Chorus Senior Singers or to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bailey’s Harbor WI.
