Obituary for William L. Kucharski

Called to heaven on January 19, 2016, surrounded by his children and his great love, Judy. Bill courageously battled cancer for the past seven months.

He was born on New Years Eve 1935 to Leonard and Margaret (Stack) Kucharski. He attended St. John Cathedral and served in the Air National Guard.

On June 4, 1960, he married the love of his life Judithann (Schaff). Together, they raised four children: Deborah Kucharski (Greg Phillips), Ann (John) Pemberton, Marie (Greg) Zarling and Bill (Robbyn) Kucharski. They were blessed with 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, each of whom had their own way to make him smile.

Bill retired from AT&T in 1989 and began a second career at H&R Block, where he worked for 26 years.

Bill is survived by his wife, Judy; his four children; his eight grandchildren: Melissa Valente, Chris (Olivia) Valente, Josh Zarling, Stephanie Pemberton, Jessie (Greg Rupnick) Zarling, Justin Valente, Raymond Pemberton and Catherine Kucharski; two great-grandchildren; his brother James (Rosemary) Kucharski; his sister Carol (the late Rich) Ameen; several nieces and nephews, friends and his pets.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joan.

Bill was an active member of St. Agnes Parish and School, was an avid reader and fisherman and loved big band music.

Visitation on Saturday, January 23 at St. Agnes Parish, 12801 W. Fairmount Ave, Butler from 9 AM until time of Mass at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Agnes Parish School Tuition Angels.
