Obituary for James Carl Dakins

Passed away at home surrounded by his family January 17, 2018 at the age of 67. Beloved husband of Joan E. (nee Weidner). Loving father of Jason (Deborah) Dakins. Proud grandfather of Craig (Anne), Stephen, Austin, Adam, Dakota, Joseph, Tyler, Benjamin, Raven, and Kiera and great-grandfather to Timothy, Kennsley, Carter, and Madilynn. Dear brother to Jeff (Margaret) Dakins and the late Larry (Colleen)Dakins. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jim proudly served in the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate 1st Class aboard the USS Lynde McCormick DDG8 1970-1976 during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of Albert H Groska VFW Post 8320.
Jim was an over the road truck driver for 35 years. Started Dakins Tree Service LLC in 2006 a partnership with son. Jim was an avid woodworker creating many works of art and wood refinishing.

Memorial visitation will be held Sunday, January 28 from 1-5 PM at the funeral home. Military honors at 5 PM.
