Abrams, Theresa(Terry) Rose
(nee Friedel)

Passed away peacefully on November 16, 2017 at the age of 87. Loving mother of Mary (Rick) Brinkman, and James Abrams Jr. Proud grandmother of Jamie Abrams. Dear sister of Frank (Laverne) Friedel, Donna (Bill) Casey, Tom (Mary Ann) Friedel, Lois Bond, Mary (Magatte) Diop, Noreen Jansen and Antoinette Friedel. Further survived other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years James Abrams Sr., siblings Lavern McGovern, Dolores Foltz, George Friedel and Joseph Friedel.

Terry was born on March 11, 1930 in Cleveland Ohio to George and Mary Friedel. Terry attended Notre Dame Academy and went on to earn her three year RN at St. John’s Hospital School of nursing. In 1951 she came to Milwaukee and earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Marquette School of Nursing. It was in Milwaukee where she met Jim, the man who would make her laugh through 47 years of marriage. Terry worked at the Milwaukee County Hospital for over 25 years as a nurse and a nursing instructor. Terry also taught nursing at UWM, Marquette and Cardinal Stritch Universities and Germantown High School. Terry lived in Germantown for almost 50 years and was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls for almost 52 years.

Our mother had an amazing sense of adventure and loved to travel, especially to visit her sisters across the globe, she was still packing her suitcase until a year ago. Where ever her travels took her always had a soft spot for her hometown Cleveland. She was also a talented artist and her home was filled with her charcoal drawings, watercolors and oil paintings. Our mom had a fantastic sense of humor and loved a good joke or prank. She was also very generous with her time and volunteered at the Menomonee Falls Food Pantry and Community Memorial Hospital Outreach Clinic for many years.

Our family gives a special thank you to the staff of Menomonee Place Assisted Living in Menomonee Falls for taking excellent care of our mom for the last two years.
