Elizabeth "Bette"  Engelmeier
Elizabeth "Bette" Engelmeier, Born to Life on July 2, 1923 in Austria to Florian and Magdelina (Sternig) Madritsch. Born to Eternal Life on July 13, 2017 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Beloved wife of the late Alphonse "Al" Engelmeier. Dear mother of James (Barbara) Engelmeier, Richard (Pamela) Engelmeier, Patrice (Richard) Thor and Susan (Claude) Krawczyk. Loving grandmother of Jamie (Bernard) Westfahl, Justin (Elizabeth) Engelmeier, Kristin (Aaron) Dean, Karla (James) Krane, Eric (Sara) Thor, Brian (Lindsay) Thor and Lori (fiance Sean Williams) Engelmeier. Loving great-grandmother of Bernard, Anna and Allison Westfahl, Casey and Kaylie Thor, Kerri and Joseph Krane, Henry Engelmeier and Becca Dean. Also survived by many other relatives and friends. Bette was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.

Bette graduated from Misericordia Nursing School in 1944 and was an active Registered Nurse for over 40 years. She continued to serve others after retirement as a volunteer for an elderly lunch program at McGovern Park for many years and then volunteered for numerous duties during her 11 years at San Camillo. Bette loved to play cards, especially Sheepshead, and enjoyed many trips with her husband Al to international destinations, including her native Austria. She had a long and full life and will be missed dearly.

Visitation Tuesday, July 18, 4-6:30 pm at the Funeral Home with a Prayer Vigil at 6:30 pm. Funeral Mass Wednesday, July 19, 11 am at San Camillo Chapel, 10200 W. Bluemound Road, Wauwatosa. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Instead of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Camillus Foundation, 10200 W. Bluemound Road, Wauwatosa, WI 53226.
