Condolence: How wonderful that John lived to be 100 years old! Two memories of him stand out for me: being in the Staszewski house, sitting at the kitchen table with everyone. John opened a newspaper and held it upright in front of his face so that no one could see him. His wife had recently bleached her hair blonde, and he refused to look at her.

I also recall that after being offered only $35 by a junk man for our old 1955 Chevrolet, Mom sold it to John. He fixed whatever was wrong with it, and drove it for years afterwards.

My condolences to the family. He was a good man!
