Of Menomonee Falls. Born to Eternal Life December 1, 2016 at the age of 67. Tom died after a long battle of lung and brain cancer. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ward K. and Jean F. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda (nee Brigham), his brother Dave (Barb) Wentworth and sister Ann (John) Ledbury, his three children, Chris (Emily) Wentworth, Becky (Andy) Grennier, and Erin Wentworth, his grandchildren Payton, Alex, Keli, Jake, Charlotte, Cameron and Parker, his dog Mattie and extended family and dear friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 2:30-4pm with a service to follow with military honors.
Tom grew up in Milwaukee, WI and enlisted in the US Navy in 1967 right after he graduated high school. His rank was Ship fitter-pipe 2nd class and he served on the USS Tidewater for 3 years from March 1968 to April 1971 as well as on the USS Noah from May 1971 to November 1971. In addition, Tom served 17 years in the US Naval Reserve from 1972 to 1989, and worked on ships or shipyards repairing plumbing, steam systems and boilers. After he completed his active duty, Tom worked as a heavy equipment assembler in various companies from 1973 until his final retirement in 2011. Tom enjoyed weekend camping trips, caring for the backyard pool and traveling with Linda to their favorite place – St. John’s in the US Virgin Islands. Tom was blessed with a love for dogs, especially all of his puppies: Cindy, Mickie, Montie and Mattie. All who knew him would say he was a creature of habit with a quick-witted sense of humor. Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A special thank you goes to all the Doctors, nurses and staff from the Froedtert/CMH Cancer Care Center, Froedtert/CMH Oncology department and the Community Memorial Hospital for taking such special care of Tom during his battle with cancer.
